Carbon Neutral Certification

Climate Active Certification is an Australian government-backed program that recognises businesses, organisations, and products for measuring, reducing, and offsetting their carbon emissions in a credible and verifiable manner. It provides a transparent framework that demonstrates genuine climate action and sustainability leadership.

To achieve certification, a business must verify its full greenhouse gas footprint, develop strategies to reduce emissions, and offset remaining unavoidable emissions with certified carbon credits. This process involves assessing energy use, activities like travel, and other sources, then setting targets for reduction. Any emissions left after reductions are balanced out through purchasing offsets from projects that prevent, reduce, or capture atmospheric greenhouse gases.

Offsets are credits generated by projects such as reforestation, renewable energy, or sustainable land management, where each credit equals one tonne of emissions avoided or removed. When a business’s offsets match its emissions, it is considered carbon neutral.
